Utah Code Ann. § 76-10-102 – Last renewed in 2024
Requires that all smokeless tobacco advertisements in Utah newspapers, magazines, or periodicals include a warning label. The label must state: “Use of smokeless tobacco may cause oral cancer and other mouth disorders and is addictive.” This warning must be placed conspicuously and in legible type that contrasts with the rest of the advertisement. The requirement does not apply if federal legislation mandates a different warning, in which case the federal language takes precedence.
