IN H.B. 1236 - Introduced January 14, 2014

This Indiana bill required schools to provide all 6th-grade students' parents—not just those of female students—with information about the human papillomavirus (HPV) and its connection to cervical and oropharyngeal cancers. It expanded reporting requirements to include all 6th-grade students and directed the state health department to create a public education program on HPV. The program was to inform parents and healthcare providers, set immunization goals, and issue annual reports, with a stated target of 60% vaccination by July 1, 2018.
